Yep – I may not have posted in a bit but I’m still kickin’.
I’ve been playing a lot of audiosurf recently and constantly have the Portal “Still Alive” song in my head. The lyrics always give me the giggles. And for some reason, I am constantly craving cake…
On a related note, Valentines day has come and gone, and this year Eastonroyce opted for non-traditional Valentines gifts: Valve Merchandise! I am now the proud owner of a portal mousemat, companion cube tee-shirt and adorable companion cube fuzzy dice ~ KAWAII!! I was so exited!! I love Portal, and the weighted companion cube with its little pink hearts is so cute! I’ve re-themed my computer to share the companion cube love. Feast your eyes in awe at my new acquisitions:
Things have been quite hectic of late. Eastonroyce is back to teaching at TAFE as of yesterday and was surprised to discover the sun isn’t actually up at 6am in the morning. He has had one early start and is already cursing daylight savings and eagerly awaiting the return of “normal” time. Recently he as spent a lot of time being an active member of the Geeks Radio team and has been doing the two hour morning show from 7am-9am (which is actually our 11pm-1am) week days. The show is fantastic and I recommend tuning in! You can stream live from Geeks Radio FM or download the Mornings With Andrew podcast from the Coffs Harbour Geek Radio website.
In contrast, I’ve been doing pretty much nothing useful. I’ve been spending my spare time playing Sacred 2, Audiosurf and Chuzzle on the computer, and Bejewelled 2 on my iPhone. I’ve recently been on a Nancy Drew kick; downloading the manga, watching the old movies (one of the 1939 movies is in the public domain and a free download from the internet!) and reading the books. I made the mistake of asking Mum if she had any Nancy Drew books, and she promptly went out and borrowed pretty much the entire Nancy Drew book collection from the Moree library. I am very fast becoming sick of Nancy Drew now.
I’ve also rekindled my love of Trigun by rewatching the anime series and reading (and actually finishing!) the manga. I absolutely love this series. The antics of Vash and Wolfwood are hilarious! Though for some reason, even though it wasn’t a sad ending, I’ve been feeling really depressed ever since I finished the series. I think that’s why I never finish anything – I hate the sense of loss when it’s all over. If things go to plan though, I shouldn’t be feeling the loss for too long as the new Trigun movie is supposed to be released later this year. Right along with the live action Tekken movie I’ve been anticipating for the last 5 years! And I was also excited to learn there is a new xxxHolic movie coming out mid-year. Yay! I’m not feeling quite so depressed now.
