discos-karaoke-and-colds

Ah Tuesday again, and though its a Tuesday, I’m at home instead of work. This weekend has been rather hectic. On Friday Eastonroyce and I went to Moree to play DJ for my Mums work Disco. After a great deal of playing around with different settings and such, we finally had an excellent set up which consisted of a light projector connected to a laptop running windows media player visualisations while silently playing music. The music was played from the 5 disc DVD carousel connected to the amplifier and TV which was used for Karaoke lyrics. We had hoped to run all the music directly from the laptop to the amplifier, however, we were unable to get decent sound quality as we didn’t have the proper cables. Regardless, the overall effect was fantastic and everyone had a great time singing to karaoke and dancing to disco music. As the disco was in Moree, we invited friends Sarah and Geoff to join us. Sarah came and joined us on stage organising music and karaoke. Geoff was unfortunately sick and had to give the evening a pass which was unfortunate. In the end, the disco was a lot of fun (even if Mum and Sarah forced me into singing). The following images are of mine and Sarahs stunning performances:

Notice my mum is stretching her hand out? She was forcing the mic closer to my mouth. I was keeping it distant to spare everyones ears.

Eastonroyce and I spent Friday night at Sarah and Geoffs new house in Moree while everyone else headed back to Narrabri. We spent a good part of the evening watching Sarah’s new siamese fighting fish named Fleck (a birthday present to Sarah from me) swimming around in his new surroundings. The poor little fish must’ve been feeling intimidated by my fish, 2.0 Pixel, at my place because he was hardly moving around for a while there. The second we got him to Moree though, he totally perked up. I swear he was giving Geoff some death stares though.

I went to sleep Friday night with a sore throat, only to wake up Saturday with a full blown cold. Saturday morning we played lots of Worms on the Playstation 2 before heading downtown to the shops. We stopped in at the petshop to get some more food for Fleck and adore the puppies and birds, then wandered over to Hardly Normal to look at games and such. We had lunch at the Visions cafe which was delicious. Next stop was Target for clothes browsing and then a stop at Rockmans in which Eastonroyce bought me a GEORGEOUS dress and earrings to match!! We then finally bought the milk we originally went downtown for and bought flowers for the [currently non-existant] garden.

Having apparantly not having had enough karaoke the previous night, we spent the afternoon playing Sing Star, which in my case was disasterous. Eastonroyce seemed to be quite the little song-bird and put the rest of us to shame. As always, I hardly new any of the songs. I guess I really should listen to music more often. After karaoke, Eastonroyce and I headed back to Narrabri as Sarah and Geoff had a darts presentation at the club to go to.

Sunday I spent the whole day sleeping in various positions on the lounge room floor, lounge and beanbags, as I had developed full blown flu. Eastonroyce departed at about 10:30am to go to Coffs for another week of teaching, so it was a quiet day. Yesterday was more of the same, and it seems the only thing I have achieved the last few days is to rewatch (and become more obsessessed with) Stargate Atlantis. Thinking I was getting better, I headed out to Wee Waa for work today, only to discover the Narrabri network was down, so I turned around, fixed the network problems and feeling downright awful, headed home about 11:30. Essentially, right now I should be asleep, and I damn well wish I was, but the people two houses down decided to start demolishing their house today; the constant roaring of the trucks and bangs and vibrations are going right through my whole house, and everytime I try to lie down, I keep getting woken up!! *waves fist* WHY TODAY???

Oh how random. I just spent the last 10 minutes scouring the backyard trying to find a little kids football.
