Good grief I had a bad nights sleep last night. My planned early night quickly turned into a late one as my listless evening turned into a ‘restless’ one. I just couldn’t remain focused on anything, I was just feeling so agitated. In the end I was working on my blog design, and in what felt like a mere second, the clock hand had jumped an hour! Sleepy, cold and grumpy I put wood on the fire and crawled into bed with my hot water bottle. Several long moments passed in which I realised the reason I wasn’t asleep was a result of an annoying dripping sound. I tried to ignore it, but alas, the dripping continued. So I crawled out of bed wrapped in a blanket and marched off to turn off all the taps. Satisfied no more drips could escape the taps, I crawled into bed again and turned off the light. More dripping could be heard. Damnit! I got out of bed again to find the source of the noise and discovered it was not a drip at all – it was the wood on the fired popping. Defeated, I hopped back into bed determined to ignore the offending sound.

Just as I was curled up in the blankets and cuddling my bunny hot water bottle again, I was suddenly aware that bunny hot waterbottle was producing far more heat than normal. Hot to the point of burning me. Realisation dawned – bunny had sprung a leak! Desperately I struggled out of a tangle of blankets to free myself from the hot water. I grabbed bunny hot water bottle and raced him to the bathroom. His fur was so wet it made him look very cross – just like my cat Eveready on a bad fur day.

Wandering back to the bedroom I investigated the damage. Fortunately, there was only one damp spot on the bed. My pajamas kindly took most of the damage, giving me a burn on my tummy, arm, leg and hands. Frustrated, I got changed and curled up on the otherside of the bed to endure a cold sleep. I miss my bunny hot water bottle already.
